Metro
Canada Logistics was revving so high, they had to call in
Colliers for logistical support of their own.
|
Mr. Chico Nanji
President and CEO
Metro Canada Logistics Inc.
|
|
By providing integrated contract logistics
including warehousing, transportation, and development services
to a wide range of North American companies., Metro went
from a standing start in the 1970s to become Canada's No.1
third-party logistics provider today, with a sprawling 6-million-square-foot
operation in some 27 facilities located in montreal, Toronto
and the Northern United States.
When Metro Canada Logistics decided to consolidate some
of its smaller facilities in 1993, they were faced with
a number of logistical problems of their own, not the least
of which was finding a location large enough to accomodate
their fast-paced growth. And that's where Colliers International
came in. Colliers had a mandate to sell a 550,000 square-foot
warehouse that fit Metro's plans like a glove... and a racing
glove at that! Colliers has also successfully completed
various other transactions for Metro Canada Logistics including
Metro's recent acquisition of a 250,000 square foot facility
in Laval.
Colliers International provides the most complete range
of industrial and commercial real estate services in Montreal
to a growing number of leading clients who know where to
look for logistical support... like Metro Canada Logistics.
Colliers International is a member of Colliers International
Property Consultants, the largest real estate federation
in the world, employing some 4,200 people in 180 offices.

SPAR
Aerospace Limited
Spar
put the arm on Colliers to solve
a very complex space problem |

Mr. Claude
Filiatrault
Spar Aerospace Limited
Vice-President Legal
& Commercial Services
|
| When
the developer of the Canada Space Arm needed help in solving
a space problem of its own, senior management called in
Colliers.
Spar's growing aerospace business business was creating
a severe space shortage for its Satellite and Communications
Division. Spar needed an extra 35,000 square feet and needed
it fast. They required a quality property at the right price
and no more than a stone's throw away. And they weren't
at all interested in buying. "We're in aerospace, not
office space," Claude Filiatrault, vice-president Legal
and Commercial Services told the Colliers team assigned
to the project.
Les
than six months later, Spar's Ground Communications Engineering
staff was moving into new facilities just across the street
from the division's headquarters. Colliers not only found
the perfect location, they also found the perfect buyer
to acquire the property in question with Spar Aerospace
as a major tenant.
